The Architect Thorvald Bindesbøll

Hammershøi's portrait of the architect Thorvald Bindesbøll (1904) depicts one of Denmark's most original creative figures — the designer of the Carlsberg Foundation's elephant gate, the Thorvaldsens Museum furniture, and the celebrated Bing and Grøndahl vase that became iconic in Danish applied arts.
